- By entering this competition, anyone submitting a Video (“Entrant”), the Entrant agrees to all the Terms & Conditions outlined herein below as well as in the License Terms section (“License Terms”).
- Name of the video competition is #VISIT2SRILANKA2024 (“Competition”)
- VISIT 2 SRI LANKA PTY LTD and VISIT 2 LANKA HOLDINGS PVT LTD (hereinafter collectively referred as the “parties” ) are the owners / promoters of the Competition.
- This competition is open to people over the age of 18 years, all over the world.
- Videos may be submitted by professional or amateur film/Video makers. The Parties Staff / Former Staff and/or their family members are ineligible for the Competition. If a “sponsor” is planning to participate in the competition, sponsors cannot submit entries/videos to the same category they are sponsoring.
- There is no entry fee.
- Whilst every care will be taken with the video material submitted, no responsibility for loss or damage will be accepted by the parties or by anyone associated with this competition. Each person who submits a video(s) should ensure to keep a “backup” copy of the video(s) before submitting.
- Videos should be submitted with the rating of less than or equal to a PG-13 rating. Videos containing nudity, racism, drug use, extreme profanity or other objectionable content will be rejected from the contest.The Parties retain the right to refuse any Video for whatever reason at its own discretion.
- Exhibition + Promotional Rights:
- Entrant is confirming that they have permission or own the rights of exhibition of the video / owns or controls the rights in and to the Video / owns or controls the IP (Copyright) .This includes but not limited to all copyright laws and regulations relating to the soundtrack and any music featured in the Video.By submitting a Video to this competition, the entrant acknowledges that the Video may be screened in a public place and that the entrant retains all responsibility and liability for all copyright issues relating to the screening of that film in a public place.
- Legal Permissions: Anyone submitting a Video (“Entrant”) agrees to clear all licenses, copyrights, moral rights and permissions to ensure that the submitted Video will be legally and ethically presented at the competition, online at the parties website www.visit2srilanka.com, mobile app, Social Media Platforms(collectively referred as the “Platforms”) – such as but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube, on the parties sponsors’ and partners’ websites, mobile and social. If an entity other than the Entrant owns the rights to all or part of the submitted Video, the Entrant must include written consent or permission from the owner or an authorized representative of the owner on the entry form.It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that all videos have been taken with the permission of the subject(s) (or, where the submission shows any underage persons, the consent of their parent),and/or venue/location/photo or sound owner and does not infringe on the copyright of any third party.Entrant further acknowledge that their entry does not infringe on the privacy rights, copyright or any other rights of any person.
- Copyright of the submitted video remains with the respective entrants, Entrant is confirming that the entrant grants the parties a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence / rights to exhibit the video across all platforms. The parties have the right to use all or any portion of an Entrant’s video to promote, market and advertise across all Platforms, including, but not limited to, any promotional video created by the parties for the competition and showcased at the competition. Furthermore, Entrant agrees that all or any portion of an Entrant’s video may be used by the parties for promotion of future promotional purposes (ie- on social media, in presentations, etc.) in any and all media for publicity and marketing purposes. This implies that any entry can be used for promotional purposes.
- Entrant grants the parties the perpetual licence to copy, edit,display, publish and make available their submission materials for any marketing or promotional purposes and agree that the partners and partner/s or sponsors of the competition, may publish their names in connection with this video contest
- Entrant agree to provide access to the original Video file (by sending the parties the Original Video file via a File Sharing method) in addition to the embed code if got shortlisted or become the Grand Prize winner
- Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted online. Online submissions will be accepted from 14th September 2024 (starting at 12:01am) until 14th October 2024. Nominees will officially be notified on 2nd November 2024 to 10th November 2024. Winners will be notified of the results on 10th November, 2024 and will be available on the www.visit2srilanka.com and all Social Media Channels of the parties on 14th September, 2024.
- All Entrants understand and agree that the Parties will not be responsible for any submissions that are either delayed, misdirected, lost, or corrupted, and are not received, available or accepted for judging in accordance with the deadlines above.
- Entry in the competition is void where prohibited by law.
- Before you edit your video, please make sure you check the song is not blocked for personal use by entering the song info here – www.youtube.com/music_policies
- Previously submitted Videos to other competitions will be accepted.
- Incomplete or Videos-in-progress will not be accepted.
- Submission Process: Entrants must follow the online procedures for electronically submitting a Video. Submitted Videos that fail to work or are not comprehensible for any reason will result in the disqualification of the entry. Failure to properly complete any portion of the submission process (completing the online entry form and submitting the Video) by the 14th October 2024 deadline will disqualify the entry from the competition. If there’s an issue with the submission process or if you haven’t received a confirmation email from the parties, please contact the parties via email : 2024@visit2srilanka.com. The parties will not be responsible for any submissions that are either delayed, misdirected, lost, or corrupted, and are not received, available or accepted for judging.
- Submission Requirements
- All Entrants must be 18 years or older. All Entrants must have the proper identification to prove their age if they’re selected as nominees and/or as the winner and in order to receive any award
- Video must have been produced on or after January 1, 2021
- Do not use any text overlays in the video
- Video Quality should be either HD or 4K (Prefered). Low quality videos will be rejected
- One Entry Form for Each Entry: The Entrant must complete one entire entry form for each Video submitted.
- Entrant may submit videos to any number of categories – there are no restrictions at all. Each video may only be submitted once per category. Entrants may submit multiple Entries, as long as each Entry differs significantly from any others submitted by that Entrant.
- Choose the Appropriate Category – Entrants are responsible for submitting their Video(s) to the appropriate category. If the parties determine that an entry does not fit the selected category, the entry may be reassigned or rejected.
- Entrant needs to upload the Video directly into our online platform (in the Application Form) or can be uploaded to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and its compulsory to include the main “hashtag” – #VISIT2SRILANKA2024 along with the “hashtag” assigned to the relevant category (For Example : with regards to the category “Best Video – Tours & Activities”, you must use #v2sltoursactivities) and link to video must be submitted.
- If you wish to withdraw from the competition, you may do so by sending us an email (2024@visit2srilanka.com) on or before 16th October 2024. For all nominees and winners, the nominated or winning video cannot be removed from our platform or from the social media platform you have uploaded the video until the award Ceremony is over and without our written permission.
- Video duration must be minimum 30 seconds & maximum 10 minutes
- Videos with Contact Information such as but not limited to Name, Phone Numbers , Social Media links , Logos will be rejected. However this rule does to apply to video submissions under the category – Best Travel Video Advertisement and for Companies (All such contact information should be displayed in a way which won’t distract the viewer – preferably at the end of the video)
- Judging Process + Voting
- Evaluation Criteria: Entries are evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Professionalism;
- The use of aesthetic and/or creative elements;
- Sense of structure and timing;
- The relevance of the video with regards to the selected category
- Production values;
- Technical merit;
- Form and substance.

Judging: An esteemed panel of jurors will convene to determine the category winners. This panel, comprising representatives from relevant stakeholders, professionals from the tourism industry, and esteemed sponsors, will meticulously evaluate and deliberate upon the top ten entries receiving the highest number of votes in each category. Out of 10 shortlisted videos per category based on the highest number of votes the Jury will select the category winner. From the pool of 26 category winners, the jury will collectively select the recipient of the Grand Award, epitomizing excellence in tourism video production.

Audience Voting: Upon registration at www.visit2srilanka.com, visitors gain the opportunity to cast a single vote for any submission or video of their choice. The voting period will commence on 16th October 2024 and conclude on 31st October 2024. Eligibility to vote is unrestricted, welcoming participation from all interested individuals.

Disqualification: The parties have the right to disqualify any nomination that intended to game the system, violates trademarks, infringes copyrights, impersonates others, invades privacy, makes threats of violence, promotes illegal activities, promotes pornography, spams, uses bots, scripts or other automated means for voting, engages in abusive behavior, or promises anything of value in exchange for a nomination or if the initial entry in the competition is void where prohibited by law. Ballot stuffing or other forms of cheating will result in immediate disqualification. Ballot stuffing can include creating fake Facebook accounts, paying or otherwise rewarding for votes.
- Evaluation Criteria: Entries are evaluated according to the following criteria:

- Grand Award – Trophy , Certificate & Cash Price of Rs.1 Million + Gift from the sponsor.
- All category winners will receive a commemorative trophy, Certificate & Cash Price of Rs.100,000 + Gift from the sponsor
- General
- Each participant/entrant hereunder (whether submitting, voting or otherwise) hereby releases, agrees to indemnify, and holds harmless the parties, their affiliated and related companies, their partners and designees, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, companies and the directors, officers, agents, and employees of each of the foregoing from any and all liability for any and all claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind (including without limitation personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction or property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light) arising out of their participation in the competition, use of any video by the aforementioned Parties across their Platforms, and/or the unauthorized or illegal access to any Entrant’s personally identifiable information.
- The parties reserves the right to change, revise, or update any rule, term, prize, award, or guideline at any time without notice. Further, The parties reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this contest with or without prior notice due to reasons outside their control such as but not limited to current COVID19 Epidemic
- License Terms
- For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, Entrant hereby irrevocably grants to the parties and its successors, licensees, and assigns a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, incorporate, edit, modify, alter, reproduce, and create derivative works from (i) the submitted videos and its title, logo, trademarks, and all audiovisual material contained in the video; (ii) the name, voice, likeness, photograph, image, and performance of any individual in the video; (iii) the name, logo, trademarks, and/or service marks of the submitted organization; (iv) those certain photographs submitted as part of the submission; and (iv) any and all other information, data, and/or material provided by Entrant and/or included in the submission made by Entrant on this Website (the “Licensed Material”) in and/or in connection with the competition for the purposes and in the manner set forth herein (“Licensed Rights”).
- The parties shall have the right to use, incorporate, broadcast, exhibit, distribute, advertise, promote, market, publicize, and otherwise exploit the Licensed Material (in whole or in part and in combination with any other materials) in and/or in connection with the competition and any related or derivative programming (including, without limitation, any and all promotion, advertising, marketing, merchandising, publicity, distribution, exhibition and any other ancillary uses) in any and all manner, media, language, and formats, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the universe in perpetuity.
- Entrant represents and warrants that: (i) Entrant owns and/or controls the Licensed Material, including the copyright therein, and/or has full right, power, and authority to enter into, fully perform, and grant the rights granted by Entrant and no other permission or license is required; (ii) by entering into this competition and granting the rights granted herein, it is not and will not be in violation of the terms of any agreement or understanding to which Entrant is party; (iii) the Licensed Material does not and will not infringe upon the rights or interests of any third party; (iv) all elements within the Licensed Material are either original with Entrant or Entrant has acquired all necessary rights, licenses, permissions, and/or consent necessary for the use of such elements, including, but not limited to, all video and musical elements, master recordings, and synchronization rights; (v) Entrant has made the submission voluntarily and Entrant will not be entitled to receive any financial compensation of any type associated with the use of the Licensed Materials in the Program or otherwise; and (vi) the Licensed Material is free and clear of any liens or claims with respect to the use of such Licensed Material in the manner authorized herein, and such use will not give rise to any claims of infringement, invasion of privacy or publicity, or claims for payment of re-use fees, residuals, royalties, or fees. Entrant expressly acknowledges that, if and to the extent that the Parties use or include the Licensed Material in connection with the competition, it will be in substantial reliance upon the foregoing representations and warranties.
- Entrant will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the parties, its partners, assignees, and/or licensees, and each of their respective officers, directors, members, consultants, employees, successors, licensees, agents, and assigns (“Licensee Parties”) from and against any claim, demand, action, damages, loss, expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), and other liabilities arising from actions brought by third parties for (a) any breach of any of the representations, warranties, or agreements made by entrant hereunder; (b) the use of any video by the aforementioned Parties across their Platforms or at the competition; or (c) a claim that the use of any or all of the Licensed Material infringes any intellectual property right(s) of such party. Licensee will promptly notify Entrant of any such claim. Entrant will bear full responsibility for the defense of any such claim. Entrant will keep the Parties informed of, and consult with, the Parties in connection with the progress of any litigation or settlement of any such claim. Entrant will not have any right, without the Parties’ written consent, to settle any such claim if such settlement obligates the Parties to make or contribute to a monetary payment; arises from or is part of any criminal or quasi-criminal action, suit, or proceeding; or contains a stipulation, admission, or acknowledgment of any liability or wrongdoing (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) on the part of any of the Licensee Parties. Entrant will reimburse the Parties promptly upon demand for any payment made by the Parties at any time to which the foregoing indemnity applies.
- Entrant hereby releases, discharges, and hold harmless the parties from any and all claims of any kind arising out of or related to (i) The Parties’ use of the Licensed Materials in the competition or otherwise; (ii) any reasonable expectation of privacy or confidentiality associated with the Parties’ use of the Licensed Materials and/or the submission; (iii) any breach of the representations, warranties, or agreements contained in this Agreement, Rules, Terms of Use, or any other applicable policies; and (iv) use of any of the rights granted herein.
- Entrant acknowledges that the parties is under no obligation to produce or distribute the video or to use, exploit, or include the Licensed Material in the competition. The parties has no obligation to compensate the Entrant for the use of the Licensed Material. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that in no event will Entrant seek or be entitled to seek injunctive or other equitable relief, to enjoin the development, production, exhibition, distribution, broadcast, advertising, marketing, promotion, or exploitation of the Program or to rescind or terminate this Agreement.
- The Parties acknowledge that their use of the Licensed Material will not affect Entrant’s continued and separate copyright ownership of the Licensed Material. Entrant acknowledges that the parties will be the sole and exclusive owner of all rights, title, and interest in and to the competition, and whether or not the Licensed Material is used or included in or in connection with the competition, Entrant will acquire no rights whatsoever in or to the competition.
- The Parties will be entitled to assign all or any portion of the rights and licenses granted herein and will be entitled to assign this Agreement, in whole or in part, to any person, firm or corporation. This Agreement is binding upon and will insure to the benefit of the respective licensees, successors, and assigns of both Entrant and the parties.
- This Agreement sets forth the entire understanding of the parties hereto with respect to the subject matter hereof, and there are no other representations, understandings or agreements between the parties relative to such subject matter. This Agreement and all questions arising hereunder will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws and decisions of Sri Lanka without giving effect to the principles thereof relating to the conflicts of law, and the parties hereto agree that any suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be instituted exclusively in the commercial courts situated in Sri Lanka
