Sri Bhadrakali Amman Kovil is situated in the centre of Trincomalee town and embodies the power of Goddess Kali. The Kovil is a massive structure with an elaborately decorated gopuram and its interior is brightly lit with aesthetics that would take your breath away. Built during the Portuguese epoch, Fort Fredrick in Trincomalee is a lasting monument of the island’s colonial history. The Sri Gokanna Raja MahaViharaya is also located within Fort Frederick.A flight of steps takes you to a standing Buddha statue and you can see the entire area from the vantage point right next to the statute.
