Passekudah

One hundred kilometers down the east coast are the relatively quiet shores of Passekudah, also known as Pasikudah. This is one of those dreamy beach escapes where turquoise waters gently lap at the pale white shores. The sun-kissed shoreline of Passekudah bay is fringed by swaying coconut palms. It is a place to sunbathe, swim, read and dream, but also a place of adventure and intrigue. During some months of the year, one can wade through the sea for several meters. Lulled by the tossing waves and hushed by the sea breeze, Passekudah is an oasis of serenity. The shoreline is dotted with white-washed villas and pretty resorts, making it an ideal holiday destination. As the sun rises over the horizon, the sky turns into a painting of mosaic shades, creating a stunning contrast against the turquoise blue of the waters below.

Plunge into the blue waters of Passekudah to witness fluorescent corals and schools of vibrant fish. The bay area has been declared a marine sanctuary by NARA due to its exotic corals. You can also explore the eerily beautiful world of shipwrecks off the coast of Passekudah. The final resting place of some of the World War II ships are an interesting place to discover. Passekudah is a watersport destination where holidaymakers swish pass on jet skis, enjoy fun banana boat rides and sail away in luxury yachts. Windsurfing is a famous activity along the bay. You can either try out deep sea fishing or simply indulge in hours of soaking.
