This action-packed itinerary is ideal for families with kids to have some great time in the tropics. Begin your adventure in Wilpattu and go on an exhilarating jeep safari through the wilderness. Soak in the delightful sights of the former British naval bastion of Trincomalee and bask in the sun. Venture off into the deep seas in search of mighty whales and playful dolphins. Then venture down to the cultural triangle, a treasure trove of history and heritage. Wrap up your journey in the island’s pulsating capital of Colombo. Criss-cross the streets of bustling Pettah and indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the chic shopping malls in Colombo

Price mentioned is for 1 traveler with only Transportation cost for up to 805Km, which more than sufficient enough to visit the places of interest mentioned in the Itinerary, pick-up & Drop off to the Hotel etc . For each additional 1km , fee of $0.35 USD (Rs.110) will be charged.

Fee is payable in local currency which is Rs.123,030 excludes fees for other travelers, if any + other extra charges such as but not limited to Entry Fees, Food & Accommodation, Fees for extra kilometers etc. In order to confirm your tour package, 10% deposit of the full payment is required upon confirmation. Balance 90% should be paid 24 hours prior to departure of the tour Or at the time of pick up from the Colombo Air Port for those who commence the Tour upon arrival in Sri Lanka. Hotel Charges & Food is not included in the price.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Relax at a hotel close by to BIA

Relax at a hotel close by to BIA (Depending on the time of your flights, you may need an extra initial night near the airport.)

Day 2 - Go on a game drive at Wilpattu National Park (morning and evening)

Wilpattu National Park is home to over 30 species of mammals including the Asian Elephant, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Wild Buffalo, Spotted Deer, and Barking Deer. You can also spot various birds, reptiles as well as butterflies during your game drive. The specialty of the park is that it is consisted of a collection of lakes or villussurrounded by grassy plains. The park covers a massive area of 131,000 hectares.

Day 4 - Go on a whale watching excursion

Hop on a boat and head to the seas for an exhilarating experience of a waterborne safari. The variety of marine environments off the coast of Trincomalee sustains a vast diversity of marine life including about eleven species of whales. Keep your eyes peeled as whales emerge from the azure waters of the Indian Ocean and pods of dolphins perform deep sea ballet steps.Please note that whale-watching remains a seasonal activity due to changing weather and sea conditions.

Day 5 - Visit the ancient city of Anuradhapura

The first kingdom of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura boasts ancient Buddhist temples, ruins of massive palaces and sprawling gardens. It is home to the most revered tree which is also the oldest historic tree in the world-the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi planted in 288BC. The sapling was taken off the Bodhi tree under which Buddha was enlightened. Ruwanweliseya stupa, the eight feet structure of Buddha-Samadhi statue, Aukana Buddha statute and Isurumuniya are some of the attractions in Anuradhapura.

Day 6 - Cycle around Polonnaruwa and witness evocative ruins

Another ancient capital of Sri Lanka, Polonnaruwa is a maze of age-old artefacts including stupas, ruins of ancient structures and tombs. The intricate statute of King Parakramabahu is one of the key attractions in Polonnaruwa. Said to be the first stupa built in Sri Lanka, Thuparamaya stands amidst the calm environs of the ancient city. Another important site is the Nissankalatha Mandapaya or King Nissankamalla’s Council Chamber, which is an ornate structure of traditional Sri Lankan architecture.

Day 7 - Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Marvel at the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya, a king’s palace built atop a massive rock, high in the sky. Considered as the Eighth Wonder of the World, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka. The rebellious King Kashyapa (477-495AD) reigned from this mighty rock fortress. You will climb up to the summit of the rock and witness ancient moats, ponds, walkways and ruins what once used to be regal gardens and courtyards. Also, you will walk through the corridors that lead to the famed frescoes wall adorned with intricate arts of the concubines of the palace. Visit the Dambulla Rock Cave temple Visit the ancient cave temple in Dambulla. Steeped in history, the cave temple is an awe inspiring sight. The life-like sculptures and stunning arts are a mirror image of the skill and dexterity of the craftsman. There are about 150 Buddha statues housed within five caves of the temple. Don’t forget to admire the scenic walkways around the temple.

Pettah is a maze of streets buzzing with activity. Dotted with tiny boutiques, wholesale bazaars and remnants of the colonial era, the vibe of Pettah is exuberant. Walk through its narrow streets sandwiched between stores and rows and rows of bikes and tuk-tuks parked on either side of the road. From spices, to vegetables, to cooking utensils, to sarees and jewellery, you can find anything and everything in Pettah. The Red Mosque, old market, old town hall and old Kayman's Gate Bell Tower are the colonial giants that stand in silence. A shopping spree in Colombo For a more commercial take on Sri Lankan culture, try shopping in bustling Colombo. From shopping malls, to luxury boutiques, to chic restaurants and cineplexes, there is a lot on offer.

You will leave for the Airport (Bandaranaike International Airport), Depending on the Departure Time or continue with one of our Tour Packages, or continue with your own itinerary for rest of your stay in Sri Lanka

3. Note - The starting point of the tour is Colombo. However, if you want us to pick you up from a different location, we can arrange it at an extra cost. 4. Hotel check in time: 14.00 hours and Hotel check out time: 11.00 hours.

9 .Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is not included in your tour price. It is your responsibility to verify whether your local health/travel insurance carrier provides coverage while traveling. We strongly encourage and advise you to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover all aspects of your tour including the loss of deposits through cancellation, loss of baggage and personal items, personal injury and death. A waiver must be signed if insurance is declined.
