Explore Sri lanka’s unique culture experiencing authenticity and simplicity of the typical village life.You will be welcomed to this beautiful village of Niralgama in Ratnapura with a customary drink of fresh Papaya juice. You will then be taken on a tour through a gem mine where you will get an understanding about excavating, washing and sorting process of gemstone mining. After this amazing experience you can refresh your mind and soul with fresh air and the sweet smell of natures you walk through lush greenery of paddy fields. You will then get a unique experience of riding a bullock cart to the village River (Subject to availability) where you can experience a catamaran ride too.
Next,you will get an opportunity to enjoy tongue-tingling Sri Lankan cuisine inside a traditional “mud house”. You can also try some locally made toddy; which is a local alcoholic beverage.You will also get hands-on experience on coconut scrapping and extracting coconut milk from the pulp of the scrapped coconut. The locals will show you how to make a traditional Sri Lankan dish with perfectly balanced flavors which would definitely be a treat to all your senses. After a delicious Sri Lankan lunch, you will be served with a fruit platter with a collection of local fruits. After lunch, you will be walked through the garden having tea and rubber trees and shown how to pluck tea leaves and tap rubber also. At the village house you will be given the opportunity to buy tea, cinnamon, pepper packets as well as homemade chutney and Sri Lankan pickle. After having a pleasant time with the locals at the village house you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon by a waterfall before returning to the hustle and bustle of your busy lives.
